Do You Mind ?

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."


Apostle Paul gave the Philippian church definitive parameters to evaluate the kind of ideas, opinions, theories and views that are entertained by the members in the quiet privacy of their heads. It's a valid test to take even for today's Christians to assess if the thoughts that occupy our minds glorify God. Here's why- What occupies our head has an immense effect in how we occupy ourselves. Reflections of the human mind have the potential to keep a soul immersed in the self and in the flesh if they are not bridled by the Holy Spirit 2 Corinthians 10:5 prescribes the perfect antidote to the vagabond mind "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ"


Statutory warning:  If  what we are thinking about defaults the qualification of being true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy IN THE SIGHT OF JESUS, then we are, as George Elliot says, tempting the devil by beckoning him to show his skill with opportunity.


Let's answer the call to be transformed by the renewing of our mind!(Romans 12:2)
